Help Others and Reduce Landfill: Recycle and Reuse

I'm always interested in learning of ways we can help the environment. And with the economy being so tough lately, we should be thinking about 'Reduce-Reuse-Recycle' now more than ever.

Schools and non-profits are probably feeling the pinch to an even greater degree. Funding may be cut; donations dwindling. However, there's a company in Los Angeles that has been helping in this area since 1991, and in more recent years, they've taken web-based philanthropy to a whole new level.

Since 1991 L.A. Shares has redistributed over $120 million worth of products to Los Angeles schools and non-profits that just don't have the funding. In most cases, big corporations were the ones making the donation of office furniture and supplies, giving them a tax advantage, avoiding over-stuffed landfills, and most importantly, helping others in need.
